Royalty

With the wedding of Prince William approaching one often wonders what it would be like to be royalty. Though it will proabably not happen as that means you would have to be born to it or lucky enough to not only meet a royal, but convince them and everyone around them that you are worthy of the title. Hell it took Kate Middleton 8 years to do that and from what I have read about her she is practically a saint. So for everyone else out there how can you find out what it means to be royal?

You could rent out the entire country of Liechtenstein, provided that you have the money. It would cost $70,000 for one night, but you can accomodate 150 of your closest family and friends.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/apr/15/liechtenstein-hire-rental-scheme

Vaduz Castle home to the Prince of Liechtenstein
When you think about it logically, if that is even possible, $70,000 for 150 people to stay in a castle the price would come to $466.66 a person. Plus they give you your own currency and they customize the street signs. Besides that you can go on excusions and choose other ways to customize the experience, for a fee of course. In New York high society people often pay that amount for a wedding, so why not just do one better and shuttle your friends on your private jet to Liechtenstein and have your wedding there. You would pay about the same and get the chance to be "royalty for a day."

For those of you out there thinking of other ways that you would spend $70,000 I have a few examples that you might enjoy. You can buy a permit to climb Mount Everest, a 4-carat round-cut diamond in a platinum setting, or about 17,543 gallons of milk.

I know I don't have the bankroll to do any of those things now and probably never will but its nice to imagine sometimes isn't it?

Would a rose smell as sweet...?

Dirt by Demeter Fragrance
So this week I introduced my daughter who is nearly 17 months old to Play Doh. While she wanted nothing to do with the colorful, squishy stuff yet, just the smell brought memories flooding back.
Perhaps it's that nostaglia that the perfume companies are trying to cash in on. I say this because if you haven’t heard there is now a Play-Doh scented fragrance that you can buy and wear. As odd as this probably sounds that is probably not even the craziest fragrance that is out there on the market today. Demeter Fragrance which is the company behind Play-Doh Scent also has a few others that might bring back some memories or maybe some cringes, if you imagine you or your date wearing them out in public.  These include but are not limited to: Crayon, Junior Mint, Dirt, Maple Syrup, as well as, several mixed drink inspired scents.  Here is the link if you want to check it out yourself:  http://www.demeterfragrance.com/
So you’re asking yourself could perfume scents get any weirder. Yes, yes they can.  Nearly everyone loves the fresh smell of bacon in the morning, the scent alone can make you salivate and reduce your brain to “MMM Bacon” just like Homer Simpson. But, how would you like to get that lovely bacony smell not emanating  from the kitchen but from your significant other who is lying in bed with you, oh and there is no actual bacon to be found? Yes there is a bacon cologne and perfume, once the subject of fast food commercials now a reality. I would love to go out to a nightclub smelling of fried pig, just hoping to pick up a 400 pound man with a love for pork. Doesn’t everyone? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504784_162-20052083-10391705.html
Now can it get weirder? Well maybe the scent can’t but how about the science behind it? For all those Twilight and True Blood fans out there here is a perfume that you can sink your teeth into. A fragrance line called Blood Concept that is based on your blood type, it comes in A, B, AB and O and each one contains a different scent palette. The company is encouraging mixing and matching so that your scent is a mix just like blood types. No news yet on whether or not they will add something to make your colognes positive or negative but I am sure that it won’t be long before they add that on if the fragrance line is a success. http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979219572&amp&amp

So are you going to run out and finally replace that nearly empty bottle of CK One that you have been wearing for the last 15 years? If these were my only choices I don’t know that I would.
